Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I have many things to be thankful for.... I have a family I love, a beautiful home, I am healthier than I have been in 12 years, I have a job I love and I have wonderful friends. So, think about it for a little bit.... and have a great day. Remember what Thanksgiving is really about.

More Blog Neglect

I really am a slacker blogger. I was truly trying, however life rushes on and work can be a challenge. My work has been challenge as of late. But, since I am not a public complainer, I will just say that I can't wait until this school year is over and I get some fresh , polite, kind, caring, willing to work hard, and eager faces next year. I do have many wonderful kids in my current class, but sometimes they suffer because of the "civilizing" I must do on a minute by minute basis with the few who don't seem to care about others. I do reward the great ones......
My weight loss journey continues and well I might add. I am down 89.2 pounds as of last Sunday. I am excited because my 25 (26) year high school reunion is this Sunday and I was over 250 pounds at the 20 year reunion and am super excited to be able to go and look way better than back then. I will post pictures later.

New Keyboard...

I spent the afternoon baking chocolate chip biscotti's from scratch. We have to go to a party tonight and have to bring either an appetizer or a dessert. So I pulled out my grandmother -in-law's old recipe. They turned out really great, nice and toasted perfectly.
Yesterday I purchased a new keyboard, mouse and (finally) a new flat panel monitor for the computer in the office. I LOVE the monitor, its huge! 24 inches. Unfortunately, my old computer does not support HD so I am not getting the full blown awesomeness of the monitor. The keyboard is a whole different story. It is wireless and cannot keep up with the speed of my typing. I hate the way I have to go back and type the first letters to some words, or not get a space. I guess I have to get used to it. I should have bought an old fashioned wired one. Oh, well, this one was under 30 dollars, so when it goes, I will go back to the old kind.

Plumber update...

All went well with the plumber. We only had a clog in our line. However, we now need to find out if we have a cess pool or septic tanks. Isn't that nice? I had to call the realtor that sold us the house almost 5 years ago to see if she can find the septic tank inspection report. We had an inspector come yesterday and he can't remember if he inspected our house or not. So today we have a company coming out, oh just about now, to locate, uncover and possibly pump out our septic system, whatever that may include. Oh the joys of owning a house built in 1927. I do love our house, it is full of charm and character. Some days I wish we were hooked up to the public sewer system.

Waiting for the Plumber..

I finished putting away all the Christmas decor. What a chore that was. I did manage to get some help from #2 son, #1 son was doing homework. Homework he had time to do on our trip with its multiple plane rides, but NOOOOOO, we have to wait until we have to return to school on Tuesday. Anyways, I wait for the plumber, one of our toilets is backed up and it is affecting my kitchen plumbing and the one bathroom's plumbing. So I cannot clean dishes or run the water in that part of the house. Luckily, we have 3 other bathrooms that can be used. So I have been rinsing off some dishes in my bathroom sink. Fun!!! I hope he can fix it without too much trouble and money. I will post later after he finishes.

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year to all! Just got back from the market. I missed the ringing in of 2009 because I was so tired and went to bed at 9:30 last night. I got a rude awakening at midnight due to my neighbors fireworks. Well, I feel I am caught up with my sleep, almost. I am finishing all the vacation laundry. That is one good thing to start off the new year.
